Standards alignment

At True Robotics, our K-12 curriculums are standards-aligned, so robotics time counts toward your school's goals. Our programs cover Common Core, NGSS, CSTA, and ISTE, and your state's standards, grade by grade. Pick your state to preview or download our alignment for each program, from Treads to Medical Robotics.

Questions about standards

Which standards are True Robotics curriculums aligned to?

Every True Robotics curriculum is aligned to national standards and to every state's standards, and we publish our alignment code by code. In grades K to 3, our lessons cover Common Core math and ELA, the Next Generation Science Standards, and the CSTA computer science standards, with skills such as counting to 100, rhyming words, and debugging a program. In grades 3 to 5, they cover Common Core math, the Next Generation Science Standards, the CSTA computer science standards, and the ISTE Standards for Students, with skills such as comparing fractions, converting units, and speed and energy. In grades 6 to 8, they cover Common Core math, the Next Generation Science Standards, the CSTA computer science standards, and the ISTE Standards for Students, with skills such as dividing fractions, the Pythagorean Theorem, and Newton's Third Law. In grades 8 to 12, Medical Robotics covers the Next Generation Science Standards, the CSTA computer science standards, and the Massachusetts STE Framework, with skills such as force and motion, homeostasis, and flowcharts.

Are True Robotics curriculums aligned to our state's standards?

Yes. Every True Robotics program is aligned to every state's standards, from Treads to Medical Robotics. We publish a state alignment for Paving the Way with Treads, Taking Off with Pilot, Introduction to Robotics with Axle, and Medical Robotics for every state, and you can preview or download yours on our standards alignment page. Each one lists your state's standards by subject and grade, with the codes and wording your state publishes. For Treads, that means math, ELA, science, and computer science for grades K to 3. For Pilot, it means math, science, and computer science for grades 3 to 5. For Axle, it means math, science, and computer science for grades 6 to 8. For Medical Robotics, it means science and computer science for grades 8 to 12.

Can we plan our robotics unit around raising math and science scores?

Yes. Math and science run through Treads, Pilot, and Axle at every grade level, and our team builds a scope and sequence with your teachers around the scores you want to raise and the days you actually have. In grades K to 3, that includes counting, place value, and engineering design. In grades 3 to 5, it includes fractions, converting units, and speed and energy. In grades 6 to 8, it includes dividing fractions, the Pythagorean Theorem, and Newton's Third Law.
