Professional development
True Robotics trains every teacher who runs our K-12 robotics programs, so your teachers lead hands-on STEM with confidence from day one. Each teacher gets a Learning Portal open 24/7, a 30-minute intro session, virtual one-on-one training, and a dedicated person from our team to call.
What our training includes
Our Classroom Packages bring together reusable robot kits, a grab-and-go curriculum, and one-on-one teacher training, so your school has everything it needs to keep robotics running for years.
We built our training in because teachers asked for it. In hundreds of educator interviews, teachers told us their preparation included little robotics, coding, or STEM, and that they wanted real support before teaching it. We have trained 450 instructors, and every program we sell comes with the same training.
| Layer | What it is |
|---|---|
| Learning Portal | Open 24/7: our videos, articles, and quizzes. |
| Intro session | 30 minutes with us: your setup and a portal tour. |
| Point of contact | Ongoing: a dedicated person from our team to call. |
| One-on-one training | Virtual, one to two hours: build and code with us. |
| In-person sessions | At your school: best for a full-school rollout. |
Our Learning Portal
The Learning Portal is our self-paced online course for teachers, open 24/7 in the Teacher Digital Portal. Your teachers watch videos, read articles, and take quizzes on their own time, and can come back to brush up the night before a harder lesson.

One portal per program
The first step
Your 30-minute intro session
Your teachers start with a 30-minute one-on-one session with us. We set up their account, tour our Teacher Digital Portal together, from the lesson plans to the PowerPoints, and help set up their classroom. Each teacher also meets the dedicated person from our team they can call anytime.
Ongoing support
A person, not a help line

Each of your teachers has a dedicated person from our team to reach out to anytime they need help. It is a personal experience, not a 1-800 number and a hunt for someone who can get a robot to drive straight. Your teachers meet their contact in the intro session, so their first call is never to a stranger.
Virtual or in person
| Detail | Virtual sessions | In-person sessions |
|---|---|---|
| Format | One-on-one, held virtually | Held at your school |
| Best for | Tailored training for each teacher | A full-school rollout with more than one teacher |

Teacher training questions
Do teachers need coding experience?
No. Your teachers need no coding or robotics experience to teach True Robotics, because our lessons and training are built for teachers brand new to robotics. Every teacher starts off with a one-on-one training session, alongside our self-paced Learning Portal. Then every school we work with receives additional professional development, in person, virtually, or both. Every teacher also has an assigned point of contact, and teachers with experience can take a quicker path.
Who will our school work with?
Your school works with a dedicated person from the True Robotics team, who makes sure our program is a great fit and that your students and teachers have everything they need. We start by learning about your school: what you run today for STEM and robotics, and your long-term goals. Every teacher also gets an assigned point of contact to reach any time they need help, a real person rather than a 1-800 number.
How much prep time do teachers need?
Very little. Most of the teachers we work with report that prep for a True Robotics lesson takes about five minutes once they understand the flow. Most of that is the PowerPoint loading. Your lesson plan, presentation, entrance ticket, reflection, and answer keys are all ready in our Curriculum Portal, so there is nothing to write. Our goal is to bring your teachers' prep time all the way down to zero.
What do we pay after the first year?
After the first year, your school pays only the yearly True Robotics license renewal for our curriculum and Learning Portal. Your reusable robots stay with your school and your teachers are already trained, so the license is the only thing to plan for in the years that follow. The renewal amount depends on how many teachers are licensed.
